Satirical newspapers and political cartoons, already popular before the War, continued to develop. Le Canard enchaîné was founded in 1915. Every week, magazines like La Baïonnette and Le Rire rouge published new accusations against the enemy and a caustic vision of daily life both on and behind the front.
